At this seminar Warren Togami will be presenting many Linux tips & tricks,
things you will want to know in order to use your Linux system after the
installation.  Software installation and configuration of selected desktop
and server software will be covered.  This seminar will be held in the new
Linux Thin Client Computer Lab, and you will be able to practice some of the
examples on those machines.

Topics to be covered:

*Linux Configuration Tools
** Network configuration
** XFree86 configuration
** Linuxconf
** setup and drakconf (Red Hat and Mandrake respectively)
** Manual editing of key config files
** chkconfig and service

*Software Installation and Maintenance
** Updating your Linux distribution (up2date, rpmdrake, etc.)
** RPM Package Management tips
** tar, gzip and bzip2 tips
** Source package compilation and installation

*Miscellaneous Cool Linux & Open Source Stuff
** Cygwin - Unix tools on Windows demo
** VNC cross platform remote desktop demo
** SSH secure encrypted tunneling demo
