[luau] a generic system

The systems I'm comparing them against are P3's.  Compaq DL360's, dual P3,
kinda wierd SCSI/PCI configurations, other kinda "non-standard" stuffs.
I'm working a lot with RTAI, and I have a hard time figuring out if
problems I have are specific to the hardware, or something wrong with the
software.
