Hmm...  Any kernel that is not defined in /etc/lilo.conf (or in GRUB) could probably be deleted from the system safely.  The main hassle is with the /lib/modules subdirectories - I would keep them in place, as new compilations of the kernel will overwrite previous modules.
As always, make sure that you have a "safe" kernel listed in our lilo.conf (and that it works) - short of that, a rescue disk.
