Thanks Warren and Wilson for the tips, especially on Grub. I am not sure how to figure out which partition WinXP is on; I loaded it first (actually came loaded) so I guess it is the first partition, i.e. /dev/hda1 in Linuxspeak. So I will try using your edits just as you wrote them. Hmm, would partition magic tell me for sure?
