One of the main differences between MDK 8.2 and 9.0 is KDE. Under MDK
8.2, I have to use IceWM b/c KDE (both 2.2.2 and 3.0.2) is not
stable/snappy enough for business work. Under 9.0 beta2, KDE performs
very satisfactorily.
There is something worthy of noticing. KDE (3.0) behaves much better in
Red Hat 7.3 than in Mandrake 8.2. I suppose Mandrake developers must
have learned something from Red Hat and incorporated those tricks in the
9.0 release.
This is one the most distinct advantages of Linux over Windows, and is a
guarantee that Linux will eventually better than Microsoft Windows, if
not already so in many aspects.
