rpmv is a helper program for rpm, which compares files installed to what 
files
the rpm database says should be installed.

slocate is a program that catalogs your whole filesystem so that you can
instantly find out the location of any file on your hard drive, just by 
typing

locate 'substring'

where substring is a substring of the filename.
