Funny you should ask!

	I've been working on a project using firewire lately!  If you go to the site 
on Sourceforge at http://linux1394.sourceforge.net/index.html ,  you'll find 
a very useful compatibility chart.  I ended up with the pyro firewire webcam 
and the D-Link dfw-500.  To get everything to work, I had to go with a very 
new kernel, 2.4.18-16, as things didn't work with the regular updated kernels.
