Agree with Yuser.

A seperate firewall box can save you.

We run freesco for firewalls on our installations and
recommend it to clients. The ones who do run seperate
firewalls either know about the situation or have been
attacked or in one case had an M$ box destroyed by an attack
of some sort and now run a Linux firewall/router.
