[luau] Linux on laptop

I have a laptop with dual boot XP/Mandrake 8.2.  I am having problems with
my mouse and touchpad while I'm in linux.  My touchpad doesn't work at all
and I run into a lot of problems with my mouse (optical usb mouse).  The
mouse works ok after the system boots up, but whenever the system goes in
to hibernate and wakes up, or when I unplug then plug the mouse back in,
my mouse does not function anymore.  I have a Dell Inspiron 4100.  Any
suggestions why I run into these problems?  Thanks.
