Since I am mostly obsessed with finding ways to circumvent the GPL, I missed 
the obvious.  (Again, shame on me.)
Since your are porting (i.e., translating, assuming that you do not make 
major rewrites) an OpenBSD module into Linux, you're not re-distributing any 
Linux code (within the meaning of copyright infringement, which requires a 
substantial amount of direct or derivative copying).  Thus, you shouldn't 
have to worry about the GPL license.
