At the recent LinuxWorld conference in SF, Lawrence Lessig, Professor of Law
at Standard Law School gave an excellent and thought provoking speech about
Linux political issues. His audience is mainly Linux advocates and hackers,
and issues he covers ranges from the abuses of the DMCA, to corporate
America winning the battle to seize control of the Internet, and strenghten
intellectual property laws to unfairly benefit these corporations. He talks
about Professor Felton's stifled research, the arrest of Dmitri Skylralov,
and many other important current issues.

He speaks a very convincing and thought provoking rallying wake up call to
the geeks that built the freedom of the Internet, that they must do their
part to fight for their freedoms, lest corporate America and their army of
lawyers will win.

(Donate to the EFF. The EFF has difficulty fighting the good fight, when
they have problems in keeping their own payrolls.)

This is a 1 hour long speech, available in both Real Video and MP3 form. It
is somewhat confusing for the first ten minutes or so, but it gets good real
fast. This turned out to be one of the highlights of this past LinuxWorld.

Lessig proves that not all lawyers are evil. A truly amazing feat.

WATCH (or listen) TO THIS SPEECH!
