ssh problems

Hi,

can anyone tell me what the cause of this error message is in SSH? I logged 
into the computer using " ssh -X happy at servername " so that I could forward 
X. Trying to run xmms I got this message:

[happy at dhcp-196-36 happy]$ xmms
_X11TransSocketINETConnect: Can't get address for dhcp-196-36

** CRITICAL **: Unable to open display

Is it because the computer I am logged onto uses DHCP?
