Another interesting month. On the surface it looks like Apache dropped
hard, but they explain that it was due mainly to severe routing problems in
Germany. They mention something about many Microsoft-IIS servers switching
to Apache.

Zeus made some market gains by marketing themselves as a security enhancing
and performance boosting reverse proxy to put in front of existing Microsoft
IIS web servers. It does caching and URL filtering to protect IIS, while
the developers can continue to develop their site the way they are used to
(using Microsoft software). Interesting concept.

One very interesting point is their Web Server Survey where they show the
percentage of Microsoft IIS web servers with either vulnerabilities or
already compromised. The graph "% of Vulnerable Microsoft-IIS SSL Sites to
October 2001" is interesting. Currently as much as ~30% of IIS servers are
vulnerable, while ~20% are currently compromised.

The numbers speak for themselves.
