Windows Terminal Server in Public Education <cringe>

I recently found this article in the latest Pacific Business News talking
about Kalani High School pushing Windows Terminal servers and thin clients
at a state Department of Education Trade show.

This concerns me. Many public schools are convinced that Windows Terminal
Server and Citrix Winframe clients are the way to go. Some of my friends
are in the planning committees in other public schools that are currently
exploring Windows Terminal Server.

None of them are aware that Linux and Open Source Software can do the same
job, at the fraction of the price.

This article mentioned "Ryan Kusuda", a Kalani HS teacher sprearheading this
effort. Any of you by chance have any connection or know people at Kalani
HS, and would be able to get me in contact with this teacher?

I'm writing to Pacific Business News right now. Maybe I can get an article
about Linux Terminal Servers in the next issue.

This is part of my eventual goal the MPLUG group. We must approach schools
and other non-profit organizations and show them what Linux and Open Source
Software can do. Do any of you have any contacts with any school
administration or technology staff at any public or private school?
