Video in X

I have a 32MB card that runs video in windows without a glitch, but when I try
and use my linux system to run these same videos they are choppy and are not
smooth. Is there a command to tell X that I have a 32MB card like the "mem
128M" command? Or is there a good site for how to tweak your video card in
linux? The card is an Nvidia TNT2 64M 32MB AGP, the system has 128MB DIMMS and a
300MHZ celeron.
