portsentry on 2.4 kernels?

I installed PortSentry on a RedHat 7.1 machine that runs a  2.4 kernel. Portsentry
operates fine and this machine is a DMZ Host. I use it in the "normal" mode
versus the "paranoid" configuration. Portsentry has detected two Port 1080 attempts
and sent an email to me. Portsentry also wrote to the logs about the attempted
connections.
