I recall seeing very experimental Linux kernel ports to that chip
architecture, but yes the Visor PDA's do not have flash memory so their
operating systems are not upgradable... unless you can rip out the ROM chip
and replace it with another pre-burned chip without breaking it.

As far as I know... no, since handspring doesn't use flash memory for their
OS... but I haven't journeyed far into the "Linux on my Visor Edge" quest
yet, so I could be wrong.
