setting XV attributes

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how I can set port attributes in XV? I am running XFree86 
4.1 on Linux Mandrake 8.0. Trying to run xine, I get an error message saying 
" !! no port attributes defined" and "XvShmCreateImage returned a zero size". 
I did an xvinfo and got the following results:
