KDE 2.2 Released

I know what you're thinking. Who cares?
KDE 2.2 has some very nice improvements in the user interface and overall
usability of Linux, with what I believe is a very nice meld of concepts
between classic KDE, Windows XP and Mac OS X. It also has a few useful GUI
sytsem administration tools that are improved, and showing great promise for
future development. Please read the press release above as it does have
much information about the many improvements in KDE 2.2, and info from the
people who are using KDE like the city of Largo, Florida on over 400 RH
Linux thin clients.

I really like how KDE releases are very complete, with a large network of
fast mirrors available when they make these official announcements, with
full binary packages available for over 21 Unix platforms!

Gnome could really benefit with this type of organization. Gnome releases
are much more chaotic by comparison, with a very small network of mirrors
and only source code available for months, with Ximian or Red Hat taking
nearly 3-6 months to get these releases into easily installable binary
packages. KDE daily unstable binary builds are available for many platforms
too, unlike Gnome.
