Without starting a WM War, I wanted to pass along info on HELIX Gnome.
If you use Gnome as your WM, then you may want to consider HELIX Gnome.
I installed HELIX on my OpenLinux eDesktop 2.4, and I like it on that
"personal computing" machine.

If you are interested, go to:
http://www.helixcode.com/

To install HELIX, I recommend the HELIX Installer. It is launched from
an Xterm in
a WM as root:

lynx -source http://go-gnome.com | sh

After installer is finished, eDesktop 2.4 instructions:

After it installs, choose to KEEP your current login manager then -
reboot -
as it says you should.

Then, follow the instructions on this page:
http://www.helixcode.com/desktop/caldera.php3
for adding Gnome to your path.

Also, you must add gnome-session as a new session type from KDE control
panel.

When you login with KDM, choose gnome-session on the pull-down menu.
