An administrative meeting was conducted the Friday after the last LUAU 
meeting.  There was a lot of progress that will hopefully keep LUAU headed 
in the right direction.  The following are the important points from that 
meeting and discussions on the LUAU-admin list.

The LUAU name was officially changed to Linux, Unix Advocates and Users as 
discussed in the past on the main mailing list. (Thanks to Deven Phillips 
for this suggestion.)

The new meeting location is at Royal Kuhio Condominium Meeting Room 2240 
Kuhio Avenue.  There is no cost, only a $25 cleaning deposit.  It will 
continue to be the 3rd Tuesday of each month.  The meeting room was 
arranged by a recent addition to the group Al Shaver.  Al will be opening 
the room at 5:30 on the meeting nights.

The Royal Kuhio is at 2240 Kuhio Avenue, and is bounded by Kuhio, Seaside, 
Manukai and Royal Hawaiian Avenues/Streets. Manukai is a private street 
owned jointly by the Royal Kuhio and the property owner on the Mauka side 
of the roadway.  During the meeting, attendees may park along the Makai 
side of Manukai Street. Each car must have a note behind the windshield to 
the effect that the owner is attending the computer club meeting.  Entry to 
the building is from Kuhio Avenue.  Immediately inside the lobby, doors to 
the conference room are on the right.

By the way, there is a metered, City parking lot about 1 1/2 blocks west
of us.

A mission statement and objectives have been drafted.  These will evolve as 
the group and the community grow.

Mission - Explore computing solutions based on Linux and other open source 
software.  Provide a public forum to share experiences and knowledge with 
others involved and interested in the open source community.

Objectives
	Hold regular public meetings	
	Provide discussion and admin mailing lists
	Host periodic installfest meetings - first Tuesday of Feb, May, Aug and 
Nov.  Starting November 7, 2000.
	Provide meeting attendees with a quality open source related presentation
	Hold admin meeting open to public once per quarter to handle group 
administrative discussions.

	Many people stay after 8:00 in smaller discussion groups.

The next meeting is August 15th.  The main discussion topic is qmail 
installation and configuration.
