I had the same problem that you are experiencing.  I discovered that I had 
to set my IRQ in linux.  Remember that in Linux COM1 and COM3 shares IRQ 4 
and COM2 and COM4 shares IRQ 3.  So you may have to reset the IRQ, 
especially if you set your IRQ to something other than 3 or 4.

Ok, I tried seyon from windows.  It said the modem was available, however I
don't et an ok back when I type at.  BUT!!  I can manual dial with seyon, 
and
it works just fine, so thats a start I guess.  Any more suggestions?
