I think the small group breakout is a good idea, seemed to be what the
group wanted the several times that it has happened (last meeting, Ed's
house). It allows for further discussion of the highlighted topics of
the meeting and for probing for answers to specific Linux questions.
Since I know so little about Linux, I want to make a suggestion. I come
to these meetings to gain a better understanding of Linux and how I can
benefit from it and maybe give back in return. With that in mind, I
think that we should have a brief overview (or a very short demo) on
each of the topics prior to breaking the group up. This should be done
by the person that volunteered to speak rather than Chris. This will at
the least give everyone a basic understanding of the topics discussed.
The idea being if I don't know what the topic is about, I get at least a
basic understanding of the topic. This also helps me decide which group
I join.
If the time factor is a major concern, maybe we should just have two
subjects per meeting.
Just my $.02.
