I would have to say no.  I saw a similar survey,
but the survey was taken in Eurpoe.  Guess where
SuSE is made?  (Hint: They speak German.)  Therefore,
SuSE is the most popular Linux distro - IN EUROPE!!!
If you look in the bookstore, you'll see Slackware,\
Red Hat, and Calder mentioned almost exclusively.  In
one book, I saw references to TransAmeritech's distro
(based on Slackware, with no updates in almost three
years).  No reference to SuSE or Debian, and we all
know these are significant distributions.
