Does anyone have experience with cdrecord? Especially with a Yamaha
CDR-400t? Well i'm having a hell of a time getting it to work properly on
my system. This is a message I posted to one of the groups looking for
help. If you can help please, please, do.

thanks,
scott

-----
I got a new Yamaha CDR-400t which works fine under windows. With
cdrecord, it's very sporadic. I've yet to produce a usable CD. If I do a
dummy write (audio CD), it works fine the first time. If I try another
dummy write, it always barfs, and always at different points. Sometimes
in the first track, sometimes halfway through. Sometimes it resets the
bus after this happens, and I can try again, but sometimes it leaves the
bus hanging and I must reboot.

Here is what I get (in full to give you as much info as possible):

----------------------------------

I am running Linux 2.2.6, but I have also tried with 2.0.36. I have tried
recompiling cdrecord for each version of the kernel I used. And I have
tried both cdrecord 1.6.1a7 and 1.8a21.

For a short period yesterday I was able to write CDs fine. I made two,
then realized my audio was in the wrong format (it was at 44188Hz so each
track contained only noise). I re-ripped my audio, and ever since then I
have this problem.

I have an Adaptec 2920 (uses Future Domain driver). Right now the
cd-recorder is the only device on the bus.

Here is the command I've been using:

cdrecord -v -dummy -eject -pad speed=4 dev=0,2,0 -audio -swab
/home/scott/rip/track1.wav /home/scott/rip/track3.wav
/home/scott/rip/track4.wav /home/scott/rip/track5.wav
/home/scott/rip/track6.wav /home/scott/rip/track7.wav
/home/scott/rip/track8.wav /home/scott/rip/track9.wav
/home/scott/rip/track10.wav /home/scott/rip/track11.wav
/home/scott/rip/track12.wav /home/scott/rip/track13.wav
/home/scott/rip/track14.wav /home/scott/rip/track15.wav
/home/scott/rip/track16.wav /home/scott/rip/track17.wav

I know this is a lot of information, but I hope it will you help you. I
am completely at a loss. Any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks,
scott
